On a post two or three weeks ago, someone left a comment asking “Why aren’t you pursuing a career in IT? Or are you?!” I am indeed pursuing a career in I.T. I am only a couple classes in for my requirements through the school but still managed to snag a job at an I.T company. I am taking this class for two reasons. One being the obvious of my General requirements and the other being I enjoy writing, especially these styles of creative writing we have used. And yes, the porch is very nice. With having many trades, the trick is to learn a little of everything. (Lol)
Quick summary of last week. It was very moderate. Quite an even split of being on sites as well as being in office. We received a few laptops, repaired and got those out the next day. Was only a few hardware upgrades as well as a screen replacement. Had to fix a network configuration for a client who had switched providers for a punch clock to work again. Went to a client in New York to fix a wire for their ordering computer so customers can order food without an interaction. Very easy stuff. As time progresses, working in I.T exposes you to many technological issue computers, phones and wiring may have. Even if you have no interest in I.T, it is still very important to research and learn the technology you use and will move on to using. While being exposed, working and learning all at once, I still need to make sure I can go home and read a little something about what I do and use.
